¿How to activate the 2FA?
The two-factor authentication or 2FA is very important in order to provide more security to your funds in Bitso.
Basically it is a sole number to access your account, very similar to the number given by a bank token.
You can activate the 2FA authentication through a cellphone token such as Google Authenticator app, or the Authy App (option recommended by Bitso).
To do so, you need to have the “Google Authenticator” application or the “Authy” application on your smartphone.
After installing your application, it is time to activate the 2 Factor Authentication (2FA):
Log in to your account options in: "Profile"
Log in to the "SET-UP" part in your Bitso account; in the Two-Factor Authentication option, click on the “ENABLE” green button.
In your Smartphone application, select “Add account” and subsequently select “Scan QR Code”.
With the Camera of the Smartphone focus on the QR code that appeared on the Bitso screen, and select the “Save” option in your Smartphone.
A 6-digit code will appear, which you must enter in the “Please write here” field to finalize the process.
Done! The 2-Factor set-up has been activated; remember that this code will be requested from you on every access to the Bitso platform.
An emergency code will also be generated, which you shall use If you lost access to your device; keep it in a safe place.
If necessary, you can enter the code manually in your Smartphone instead of scanning the QR code and selecting “enter code manually” on the App of your cellphone. This code will appear in red on the same 2FA activation account.
¿How to deactivate the 2FA?
To deactivate the 2FA authentication of your account you need to enter your emergency code, which was provided to you at the time of activating it and entering it in the "Set-up" section in your Bitso account, and then press the “Deactivate” red button.
If the problem continues or if you lost your emergency code, please contact us by obtaining a help ticket from our Help Center, selecting the options "2FA Problems" > and the subcategory that works best for your problem.
You will immediately receive an e-mail with the necessary requirements such as user ID, date and exact amount of your withdrawal.
Upon sending these requirements, one of our agents will follow up your ticket within a period of 24 to 48 hours, keeping you informed of the progress of your request.
